Xero Files

Xero has a wonderful feature called Files. You can upload file attachments directly to transactions and contacts, or store them in your Xero file library until you’re ready to attach them. The average small business, with a mix of documents, can comfortably store around 9 years’ worth of documents using 1GB of storage. This could represent 20,000 word docs (50K each), 10,500 PDFs (100K each), or 1300 iPhone photos (800K each). It’s easy to upload a file. Just add the email address to your own email program as a contact to easily send files directly to Xero.

Then you can easily email directly from your PC, laptop, tablet or phone. There are lots of ways to send files to Xero. You can upload from your computer or drag a file to the library or send a file from an email received. You can take a picture with your phone or directly from Xero itself (you’ll need a webcam). There’s no limit to the number of files you can store and they’re safe in the cloud. You do still need to meet your obligations for keeping tax records as set by the IRD. Click here to the IRD’s site for more information.

If you want to know more about using files in Xero give us a call and we can show you how easy it is.
