Xero Invoice Reminders

We enjoy using the fantastic features of Xero. They save us time and let us get on with more important things. One great time saver is Xero’s invoice reminder feature.

Turn it on and your customers will receive a reminder about the outstanding balance of their account. It’s easy to do; here’s how.

  • Go to Settings, General Settings and then Invoice Settings
  • Click on the Invoice Reminders link and you can choose a range of options
  • You could send a reminder a number of days before or after an invoice is due for payment
  • You might choose to send a combination of both
  • You can customise the email reminder messages

Maybe you will start with a gentle reminder, increasing the forcefulness of the message as the account becomes more overdue. There’s an option to add a copy of the outstanding invoice, a link to view it online and you can add payment details. To avoid sending emails for small amounts you can choose to suppress sending the reminder. You can even stop reminders for particular customers or invoices. It’s all designed to make bookkeeping easy to do and once set up it all happens without you even lifting a finger!
